  2. Not a mega amount to report but have being doing some bits and still gathering parts for the eventual turbo lump. Sadly The bonnet had taken a whack from a gazebo and ladder I had stored in the ceiling void above the car. with that I’ve had a sore bonnet blasted up on the edges etc to see it’s condition. I’ve had some louvres stamped in and a Louvre panel let in where the original heater box area was to tie it all in and aid as much airflow through as possible for the turbo engine. IMG_4294.MOV To get it running again this summer I’ve installed throttle bodies. The bike carbs have always drove me mad. Waiting on an air box still This is just a stop gap to get it going again. It won’t be show condition this year but hopefully keep her rolling until my circumstances change to allow me to work on her properly for its turbo incarnation.

  4. Looked around for info about those long oil pump gears and they seem to like to "dance" in the oil pump house, checked also the clearance between the gears and the bottom plate. They had too much play so it had probably some effect on the condition the gears are at this moment. After some measuring I'm going to replace 5 shims, not sure I'm going to order them @ Risse or looking for a local shop that can grind them perfectly. If the surface is not 100% flat it will push the cam follower out of the centre in the aluminium head. A pic of checking the clearance of the cranckshaft, Nasa proved technology: And some parts of Edelschmiede arrived: Have a nice Sunday

  9. No heater I think. I do have various kit car ones though. So may go that route Oh really, no copy intentions I’ll have to check them out. So difficult to get a good array of Louvres looking symmetrical on these bonnets with the offset bracing etc. Adrian at buck lane automotive.

  11. Brakes arrived today 297mm Holden Commodore, straight fit. Should lock the fronts up no problem now haha, Commodore Left, Manta Right Calipers Manta, Volvo (girlock), Commodore And the last test, clearance to the rim Plenty. Heavy barsteds though, and the Gemini bearing (the larger one) which is supplied with this kit does not fit, you need to use the Manta one, which I did for photo purposes here, will need to source some new ones before I fit up for real. The smaller end bearing is the same.

  13. My 2nd motor arrived this afternoon, on a truck with no tail lift, the motor had a tag on the side saying 60kg...yeah nah.....you can imagine the fun we had getting that off!. Once off the truck straight into the garage, and straight into the car! Home alone again but could not wait so had to piss about on my own. First things first Lifted car as high as I could and went thru wheel arch It literally 'just' touches on each chassis rail as I lowered the car, but fitted Motor needs to come up and back about 30mm in these pics Steering arm Booster Radiator Swaybar Glamour

  14. just a thought, have you considered dropping front axle out of manta, complete with wheels etc. roughly mount the new donkey (soarer block), to front axle, rough engine mounts etc. get the engine where you want it. then offer it in from under car, this will allow you to see where manta shell is going to need modified. I'm guessing, front of bulk head, possibly wider tunnel. easiest tunnel I ever seen modified was split across top of tunnel, bulk head outer edge cut out, this allowed tunnel to be pressed out, (scissor jack,) small weld across top of tunnel, bilk head welder up, job done!! Good luck with your Mods!
