  1. Not a lot has happened lately as been concentrating on Elle but today the order for the brand new LS3 crate engine, brand new TKX 5 speed gearbox and associated fitting parts went in and was paid for. Sad day for the Bank balance but excited to receive Feniks new heart.

  2. Yes - I have been buying various panels for my own use for over 25 years now and when anything crops up that looks to be super rare of I know it will "come in handy" I bought it and put it up the loft or in my unit. I have pretty much every available panel for a coupe including some really hard to find bits, but then again I have 3 Coupes to keep going and no intention of selling any of them just yet! The good news is that I've also been doing this for the club for the last few years too and we have a decent little stock of panels that we will be looking at getting reproduced with our supplier. The ones that we have for reproduction are: Opel Manta A Front lower Valance Opel Manta C Coupe rear panel Opel Manta C Coupe – Complete Roof Skin (non Sunroof obv!) Opel Manta C Offside doorskin Opel Manta C Offside outer wing Opel Manta C N/S and O/S inner wings Opel Manta C Coupe rear quarter panel We are always looking out for other items that would be useful and/or rare and fortunately, we do get tipped off to quite a few before they come up for general sale as we have a good network of contacts in Europe.

  4. Mine will cost way more than that 😆 I would have been better buying this, but it was more about saving the one I had than just replacing the shell for another.

  6. I think for some people the real value of it is that it is an early none sunroof coupe shell. Having that as a starting point rather than havng to pay someone to weld up a rusty shell would be a bonus. Whether that is to build a project from or reshell an existing rusty coupe it would be a good base. I know one of my customers sold his tatty GT/e coupe while prices were good and bought a rust free none sunroof rolling shell that had had all the welding just done for half the price he sold his for. Which he is (or specifically i am) going to build a 400R from as it worked out cheaper and quicker to do that than rebuild his car into it one.

  8. Spotted a beautiful white E registration GTE hatch on the A1M Monday afternoon. Looked like it was going off onto the A64 towards York. Made my day seeing it.

  9. Its surprising how some people dont think like that, always thought the best exclusive would be a pre 83 shell, essentially a exclusive r! Take the mk2 escort wrc! Its a shell with top of the market aftermarket bits, they might cost 30 to 40k but its worth 80 to 90k if done right, so is the shell worth 40k? Always thought from a sponsors point of view a chevette, kadett or manta with (mk2 wrc spec! Components) would be more memorable, ie better platform for a sponsor, opposed to just another escort. Not that anyone should be thinking of destroying a genuine b, they are what they are! I prefer them, just something about them!

  10. Like said above, you could easily sink 4.5k into a rusty shell to get it that far.

  11. Just to let everyone know, I rang Vauxhall parts today and that number is out of date. He couldn't help with cross reference without vehicle vin or reg but said he would try and get an updated number from their suppliers.

  12. I’ve ordered these, they look to be pretty close https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/OPEL-KADETT-FRONT-WINDSCREEN-WASHER-JETS-NOZZLE-WATER-SPRAY-JET-X2-VAUXHALL-/221919049574?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m2548.l6249&mkrid=710-127635-2958-0

  14. TBH, despite outwardly looking in good condition, I will be surprised if it gets much beyond £4500. If it was a standard SRB it would be worth whatever, but this one is de-chromed, Vinyl roof removed, has later model door cards, the ATS alloys are matt black (which look horrible imho) and it probably needs a full respray. Still a worthwhile buy at the right price.

  15. Most sellers want as much as possible for something they are selling. Ebay auctions lets that value be decided by the market to what value potential buyers put on it and bid up to. If you end up as the highest bidder but haven't met the reserve then the market is saying thats the value of it at that particular moment. The seller then has the option of contacting you and making a deal or waiting and listing it again. Predicting values of cars is very hard as one auction will go way higher than anyone expected and the next might make nothing. It all depends on how many people are wanting to buy something at that point. Nothing to loose from putting a bid in at as much as you are willing to offer though. You might win it, but if you don't it hasn't cost anything.

  18. Sweet - that is a handy bit of info you have dug out there Matthew. I have a GM book somewhere with all the build codes in too, which helps to decode what spec each car was built. I will have to dig it out and try and post that info....it may come in handy.
