On the "fahrzeugbrief" you will find the "schlusselnummer", has got nothing to do with the number on your key 😁, but is an identification code the Germans use. This code is on your Manta 547 and thats the code of a G/TE👍. Your car is made in Antwerp in the 11th month of '77 and exported to Germany. The production of Manta's in Russelsheim stopped somewhere in October '77. @Steve 1900SR, I noticed this also. Probably the VIN plate was made in West Germany?

yes thats what ive done to overriders in the past. drilled deepest absolute possible hole i could and then bonded a long stud into it. in years gone by the manufactures would have no doubt used a brass stud to stop rusting .!

Had one like this in the late 80’s without the awful vinyl roof. Today the same driver would be ordering their car with pink roof and door mirrors 😂

Jerky when changing will prob get it refurbed, tried the easy route changing oil and filters, be good to have a spare in case I or anyone else needs one……

Okay so no car in the garage, it’s away having a rebuilt auto box fitted, so been busy stripping and cleaning up the spare axle…..

It’s amazing how a small job grows arm’s and leg’s, I felt after changing the damper’s that there was too much colour combinations going on and the red just clashed with the yellow and blue so I have started to rub down and re paint the brake drums yellow to match and I’ll tackle the front brake callipers at the weekend,
