  1. May 2018 Transmission tunnel needed opening up to clear the SD1 LT77 gearbox. Gearstick remote housing needed shortening slightly (3”) but now the stick is in a nice position. Shortened prop and knuckle sitting on existing crossmember.
  2. Sorry yes. Monza discs on Commodore hubs.
  3. I’d be interested to know too. I’ve a Skyport roof - it’s great but could do with a new seal.
  4. Just like to add another “Fantastic” to your collection. She’s beautiful.
  5. I’ll be watching what you do with interest. I have the LT77 box but haven’t done enough miles to test it. I’m not flying round a track so mine may provide reasonably good service. If it does fail I’ll deffo be going down the MX5 route as I have an MX5 as a daily runabout and I think the gearing would be hard to beat. (I won’t be spending £3K either!) Good luck with whatever you choose.
  6. I saw on YouTube that an MX5 gearbox works really well with the SD1 V8.
  7. Thanks. I’ll order some now. I hope they don’t send left-hand drive ones. Second thoughts I’ll get some clevis pins. Shipping from Edelschmiede killed it!
  8. Lots has happened to the car in the last 3 years and I’ve been busy doing that and not keeping you all up-to-date with my progress. Opel Monza front hubs with new bearings and modified steering arms. The rear is a 5 linked Commodore axle with lsd 😁. Some quick fixes needed addressing. This is the gearbox cross-member cut very crudely around the LT77 gearbox from a Rover SD1.
  9. I was looking at the pin that goes through the bonnet safety catch. It’s similar. A domed head and a hollow shaft squashed flat to stop it dropping out. I never really looked at it before but it does the job. Simple and effective.
  10. I’ve been meaning to post details of my project for some time but never seem to get round to it. Well I’m not putting it off any longer. KDF 831V has been in my family since around 1985 and was initially driven by my mum but soon ended up in I’m my grubby hands. I drove it around for a few years when I was in my 20’s but then started transferring bits an pieces from other project Mantas I was messing around with at the time. Any way long story short I had too many other things going on in my life and the Manta was never finished and got put on a back burner. Fast forward to 2017. I decided it was time to get the car finished (to be honest it was encouragement from my kids). First job was to refurb the wheels and get some new tyres - not an obvious place to start but it was something I decided on nearly 30 years earlier.
  11. Thanks Jess. Got it. Next question - where might I get a couple of those? Does anyone know their diameter and length?
  12. What holds the door check straps to the A post? Is it a bolt or a pin? Thanks
  13. I’m trying to make two sets but I’ve only got seven wheels so far. I paid between £30 and £40 for the others so I think £60 is too much. It’s been on EBay for a while with no bids so either people think the same or the demand has just dried up. They’re available from our German friends but they’re not too keen on shipping them to the UK. I’ve got a nice white set with road tyres and want to make a second set in black with track tyres 😁
  14. In the club or elsewhere? Can I have their details or could you give them mine? Thanks.
  15. I need a 15” Ronal or Lemmers wheel like the photo. I’m not too worried about the condition because I’ll be having it refurbished. Just needs to be straight and true. Imagine the space freed up by getting shot of that old wheel in the corner of the garage. 😌
  16. Thanks for looking and giving us your opinion. We’re lucky you are in the area.
  17. It seems like a lot of work but I’m pleased you’re happy to have a go. I’m very interested to hear the results too. Will you keep the wheel and tyre setup with their respective subframes?
  18. I hope you find what you’re looking for Fin. I’m in the same position but for a B Coupe - when you do find a secondhand set they’re either the wrong colour or in bad nick. I wondered about dye or spray as suggested but was worried it may look a bit crap. 🤷‍♂️
  19. If no one comes up with the answer I’ll have a look at mine this afternoon. From the photo it looks like some of it has been cut away.
  20. Does anyone have a Manta B front lip and polished ali wheel arch trims? Couple of examples below. It looks like the spoiler has an option to remove a small portion of the rear edge to clear the trim - is this correct?
  21. Absolutely stunning 🤩
  22. No mater how many cars you own you can only drive one at a time, so the NCB should be on them all. It’s a big rip off.
  23. I need a Coupe roof. I did need two but have past the point of no return on one car now. It’s easy to find most manta panels quite cheaply if you’re patient, but after the cost of shipping, stripping, repairing etc. you can easily be hundreds of pounds in. I recently bought a really solid door but it still needed dismantling to treat the rust in the twin-wall construction in the end of the door. I for one would love a reliable source of panels. You could sell to non OMOC members at a slight premium allowing club members to enjoy preferential rates. 😃
