  1. Hi everyone, need a pair of bearing retaining plates that bolt up to the axle (4 bolts) for my Commodore axle shaft conversion.May be interested in a pair of Manta shafts with these plates and bearing fitted....
  2. Remember the Antiques Road Show experts always say you must not remove the platina caused by ageing as it devalues the item...
  3. Hello Patrick, welcome to the forum. Your Cabrio/convertible sounds interesting, look forward to seeing some photos. I used to go to the Opel show in Westelbeers near Eindhoven in my Turbo Manta, made some friends and was impressed with the Dutch cars I saw there....how is the spares situation there? we have have the usual issues with body panel supplies.....any better there? ....Pete
  4. Always thought a Chevy was an ideal engine for a Manta since seeing a factory V8 Chevy Opel 4 door Saloon..Diplomat and the later Bitter V8 CD ....Got a similar 5.7 engine in my HB Viva ...(approx 375bhp)....0-100 in 10 secs, yours will be quicker with a supercharger so needs a tough well located strengthened axle such as a mustang 8/9 inch/Jag/GTE salisbury and large discs all round.. the Chevy is quicker and sounds better than smaller Rover V8s...
  5. Ideally panhard rod for a lowered manta should be kinked to allow room for the tail exhaust pipe...
  6. ......May consider breaking for spares if enough interest!
  7. Have you considering shortening a standard rod by cutting one end off and rewelding the original bush housing, or an threaded insert and a rose joint...
  8. Its great to see a finished car......
  9. May be possible to drop an Manta body on top of chassis...if you have rusty chassis rails!!!!
  10. Thanks Guys, may have got one, just need to see it in the flesh.
  11. Does anyone have a SACH part number for a Manta 400 clutch release bearing?

  14. Any one got one? Can swop for factory recon 2.0 litre one
  15. Very impressed with your progress, assume you have an engineering back ground?
  16. Sold for £560, which gives an idea of what mine may be worth complete with lower/upper arms, panhard rod, discs and calipers.....
  17. Price is rising fast, believe this axle is best one for high powered Mantas, especially for wide bodied 400's...
  18. Its not clear if this is a 4 or 5 stud axle... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ZF-LSD-in-OPEL-COMMODORE-MONZA-VAUXHALL-SENATOR-ROYALE-CARLTON-REAR-AXLE-/231222795585?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item35d5f3dd41
  19. Also recall seeing this car up at the Pod years ago, but didn't see it run. It looks like a lot of money has been spent on it in the past. You were lucky to find it after all these years. You cannot beat a large capacity V8, I have owned a Corvette and still have a Chevy engined 5.8 Viva GT.....instant horse power off idle....and that sound!!! Did it come with a registration document with V8 engine added?
