  1. Lucky it has so many doors or it would be about eight inches shorter by now too!
  2. Just a wee pic of car as it was before the transformation. Was just back from getting rear arches tubbed so lined the kit up to it. As can be seen although it was a very solid Manta it was never one of the prettiest although I do have to say I haven't seen one that colour before or since, well deffinately not in coupe form. And under the bonnet:
  3. That would be great if there was. Thanks for the replies so far lads, have Emailed him requesting more pics as suggested.
  4. Hi lads, yMy brother has sold his Mk1 Escort & is looking for a Chevette or Kadett. He has seen this on Ebay (as well as various other sites) and is keen. I'm not sure & have a gut feeling it may not be great. Anyone know it or anything about it? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VAUXHALL-CHEVETTE-1700-LONG-T-T-MINT-SHELL-EXPENSIVE-XFLOW-ENGINE-/130685115682?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item1e6d709d22
  5. It's a car at the end of the day. No one died lads. Looking at the add a lot of work has gone into it & it doesn't look bad to me. If I had a the choice between it in standard form as above or with V8 & 400 kit fitted (and finished) I'd be going for the latter. I love the standard exclusive too, don't get me wrong. I spent a lot of money building a 400R and searched high and low to find the best shell I could get. Luckily it happened to be brown metalic but I have also a white Exclusive & if it had have been the better shell she'd be wearing the kit today. People knock lads for building 400Rs then pop up in another thread complaining about "heaps of shit" with 400 kits stuck on badly. Can't have it both ways. /Thread
  6. Seen that one m8 - needs a bit too much work tbh. Thanks for link though - appreciated.
  7. Just wondering if anyone knows of something along these lines? Cash waiting for right car. (Must be 2door) Location not that important, up to £2k. Prefer little or no work to be done.
  8. I got a set of these from Brian above (400R) and can't recommend him enough. They're on almost a year and perfect, great quality. Another bonus is that Brian includes a spare or two so that if you feck up when fitting them you can try again. I also got sunstrip from him. More pics in this thread. http://forums.mantaclub.org/topic/30907-400r-almost-complete/ .

  10. I'll keep them for you m8 - I sprayed them black but it's almost all worn off already so shouldn't be hard to clean rest off. I have window winders & door handles as well as maybe grab handles in brown. I have all in grey just a matter of getting time to swap them round.
  11. Welcome back Carlos.Lovely car - good luck with it & the coupe. Was it you who was keeping a log of Mantas sold through ebay etc. a couple of years back?
  12. Have pretty much finished my 400R - yet another white one in Ireland though I'm afraid. Anyway started off with the cleanest Manta coupe I could find (or have even seen tbh) about two years ago. Had her pretty much taken back to bare metal then fitted a second user kit. Kit needed a lot of work so that part probably took the longest. When I bought the car it had already had been polybushed at the front, had a quick rack & brake bias box fitted. Since then I have redtopped it. Jobs left are to fit power steering & upgrade the fuse box to newer type. It was originally brown interior so need to get a good dye to change what's original to black or grey. Anyway some pics:
  13. Front and rear wings look like part of the 400 kit but not the front. You would still need side skirts also.

  15. Chrome bumpers on Ebay. If you're still on the lookout for these!
  16. Steve- do you know anyone that can do Ford? Brother has a 73 escort. Cheers!
