  1. i suggest welding a triangle bracket underneath the round tube for the engine mountings, i did like yours first time when i ran the CIH 6 and they cracked the welds.

  8. we used to use a 0 ET offset on 7" wide 13" rims but we had to use a 25mm spacer between disc and wheel to clear the brake calipers.
  9. Hi there, Yes you are correct, we have an early Rally sitting in the lock up , NEEDS WORK!!!, and it does have these wheels on it. Sorry but not for sale, dont know why as its been sitting there for about 7yrs untouched.
  10. Craig, Im sorry for this, and i hope i'm wrong but things have changed. Even if the cage was homologated back in the 80's it is not legal now. Safety regs supperced all previous regs. The front roll bar leg can only have one bend in it, it can have an another staight leg from the top corner down to the floor or have welded brackets to the windscreen piller ect. but as far as i understand nothing else. Please check this out , MSA will tell u if ok but dont get too far without checking. As i say im not the oracle on this, only trying to help John

Hi, its always good to see another 'Opel ' coming out to play, especially one that looks good, however on the subject of your doors. i feel you will not be allowed to run with them, section R, 48.3.9 and 48.1.2 of the MSA blue book state that only materials that are to original manufacturers spec are allowed in regard to main body panels. Shame as they look really good qualiy. Im still working thro my Scrutineering course so may be wrong but thats what the book says, anyone more qualified know different? John

  14. Hi, I have two pair of bucket seats that are now spare. First pair are Corbeau Forza, in yellow fabric with black inserts, these have never been used but have faded, could be dyed all black with no trouble. Second pair are Cobra Monaco seats, still in date till April 2015, these are from the rally car but have a small area of damage where the 5th harness hole is in the seat squab . Does not effect the seat fit or use but no good for competition use. We may be going to Billing and could take but only if your interested and are not thinking of making a silly offer, you know what the price of seats are !! Also have Safety Devices rear cage for Manta A, dont know the difference, if any, from a B interior. Again above applies Regards John / Ian

  16. ok, Using the 3.68 u would get 3000 6000 3.37 16.5mph 33mph 2.16 26 51 1.58 35 70 1.24 45 90 1.1 55 111 3.89 or 4.22 ratios would be correspondingly lower in speed
  17. i think the answer to that one is YES, they are hard to find secondhand. The 4.22 is from the Kadett GTE so not that many around. Going back to your gearbox ratios, if u use a 3.68 ratio ( standard fitting to Ascona and Manta A 1.6 ) your top speed will increase to 111mph but acceleration will be slightly slower. if u know ur gear ratios u can work out speeds in each gear.
  18. hi, The 3.89 - 1 ratio was standard fitting to the 1.6 Rallye A series and should fit the B axle, I believe their is no difference in the crownwheels between A and B, someone will correct me if I'm wrong. A 3.89 will give you an approx top speed of 105mph @ 6000rpm in 4th ( top ) A 4.22 will give u approx 95 mph @ 6000. Either of these work but you need to match them to your gearbox ratios . low 1st gear with a 4.22 is pretty useless, works with a close ratio box with a 2.86 first gear. Acceleration is the key factor, top speed is how brave you are! Hope this helps
