  1. I quite like that - pity the steering wheel is on the wrong side
  2. Another vote for Dolphin Grey - brilliant colour
  3. Hi Grant - excellent Viva you have there, love the interior as well. Ladybank show - that is quite near to me but never realised they had a car show - must look out for that.
  4. Your injection inlet manifold and exhaust manifold will fit fine. From memory I think the thermostat housing is different on an injection engine but just use the one off your old engine. Also you will need to either leave the mechanical fuel pump on the carb engine of fit a blanking plate.
  5. Mine lives in the garage as well. Its spent the last 3 years 'resting' but is now getting used regularly again
  6. I seem to remember seeing a device behind the drivers headlight but it maybe just a connection for the washer tubing. Just to clarify, the washers only work when the headlights are on and you press the screenwash button.
  7. Sure is I am MGFmad on there, only joined last year.
  8. Hi Superchargedfool - I see you made it over here from the MMOC forum Nice hatch you have there.
  9. Worth doing though. Not long finished doing this on mine although its taken about 2 years as so much other stuff seems to get in the way Your Manta is looking good - all that work will help preserve it
  10. When I see these statements I always think - well its a Manta, if its never been welded its well overdue for some metal replacement At least it will be solid and you will know its condition when you are finished.
  11. They often turn up on ebay.
  12. So are members user names in blue then? I am not familiar with all the new forum bits and bobs.
  13. A good project there I would keep that rocker cover, looks and seals better than the steel original - unless you want everything completely standard. Tailpipe looks like a standard fit exclusive type.
  14. And to you Stuart. Hows things, not heard from you in a long time
  15. I am sure there was a post before - probably a couple of years ago - about a Manta in the car park at Ikea - must be the place to spot them Unfortunately never when I am there
  16. Nice Manta, exactly like my first GTE coupe (no longer in existence ) Hope you get it on the road soon
  17. Hi Keith That car sounds familiar - its the red wings that I remember. I bought an exhaust from a guy in Errol, possibly 3 to 4 years ago now - sounds like his car.
  18. Excellent photo - that was taken from the top of Cliffords Tower - And by a strange coincidence I took a photo of the same view in July of this year - Here it is as a comparison for 2008 Euro boxes - sadly no Mantas there

Nice work Robbie, you can't beat a convertible in the spring and autumn (left out summer because it rains constantly )
  20. At last, the Morris is complete , MOT'd and back on the road - I even managed to finish a week before the birthday deadline. Different to drive but quite nice, just ambling along about 45 to 50 mph and loads of space for the dogs. No synchro on first gear takes a bit of getting used to Here are a few photos of the finished car - should now have the time to get the Manta finished for next summer and be back on here a bit more often
  21. Keep up the good work, at least you will know that its done properly when finished.
  22. Making good progress. I have finished the welding and fitted the new wood frame. The photo shows the wood frame before being fitted back onto the car. I don't have any photos yet of it installed but looks much better as I have repainted the side panels and fitted them into the woodwork. Next job is to get the bodywork ready for painting.
  23. Yes the parts situation is great - possibly better than some current production cars, just wish it was easy to get replacement panels for our Mantas, saves so much time fitting a complete panel rather than having to fabricate repair sections.
