  1. Hi, Loobie, Received message from Ian Martin that the commitee decided not to provide BBQ for members.

What would it cost per head from bbq company.

    Regards Doug Bart

      Hi,

Sorry it has taken so long to reply to this. The last time we had the BBQ, around 3 years ago it was about £12 per head, from memory. The difficulty at the moment is gauging how  many people to book a BBQ for. We could arrange for 100 people with only 50 turning up and vice versa. I don't want lot of wastage and I don't want to under estimate.

The club will hopefully lay on a BBQ again in the future, however, once we are happy again with the venue and can anticipate numbers more accurately.

      I hope this helps.

      Many Thanks

      Lou

  2. Hi, I am just looking at any more interest in this otherwise I'm going to need to cancel the rooms which I reserved. I can check on a price for a single room if you would like? Thanks - Lou
  3. http://www.fatlamb.co.uk/ I have booked 9 rooms at the Fat Lamb in Cumbria for the weekend of 14th/15th/16th September 2018. The weekend would consist of 2 nights dinner, bed and breakfast at a cost of £260.00 per couple, the only additional costs then are your fuel, drinks and daytime snacks. The hotel will organise routes for us to follow taking in breathtaking views and if requested, places of interest to stop off at. I am considering asking if we can have Sunday lunch instead of the dinner on the Friday evening as some of us would not be able to get to the hotel in time to eat. I have interest already in 4 rooms: Mick and Lou Maher, Will and Amy Wall, Andy and Julie Clears and Steve Sutton and Ruth. Let me know if you would like your name down on the list. You then contact the hotel nearer the time and pay direct to them. You can contact me on here or text me on 07905255828.
  4. To all members, Happy New Year to you all. The AGM will soon be upon us, the date and venue will be confirmed shortly. In the meantime, you can have your say and put forward any proposals for changes within the club. There are currently no proposals for this years AGM. Please let Louise Maher know of any proposals you may have by the 17th February. This is not far away, however, once we have any suggestions, we need time to send out proposal forms to non web users and accumulate any votes received. This allows members who are unable to attend the AGM to have their chance to vote. Reply via the OMOC forum Email msmaher24@hotmail.com Telephone 01926 641574 Mobile 07905255828 Please text only as I cannot answer my phone during the day. Facebook messages are great as long as they are sent via private messenger and not put on the public area as these will automatically be deleted and remain not valid. Do not vote at this point, this is for proposals only. A further voting form will be sent at a later date. Many thanks Louise Maher - Club Secretary and Treasurer
  5. My neighbour who has been introduced into the manta fold tried to insure his manta yesterday hes 29 clean licence tidy 1981 berlinetta hatch bought from the OMOC and flux told him wont touch him as wouldn't be competitive enough!!!! Very disappointed for him as i thought flux supported all club members and would beat any quote.....mmmm maybe not.
  6. I put it in this area last year along with confirmed proposals etc, it was also put on facebook for those who dont use the forum. I can put it in a different section, Mick said it could encourage non members to come along and perhaps join.
  7. To all members, Happy New Year to you all. The AGM will soon be upon us – Saturday 8th April, 1pm at The London Bridge Inn, Warrington, WA4 5BG. This is a nice looking venue with parking and only 5 minutes drive from junction 10 of the M56. This has specifically been picked with a view to being accessible to any of our Irish members who would be able to sail from Dublin into Liverpool. This is the time for you to have your say and put forward any proposals for changes within the club. At present the one proposal we have is: that the Forum should be open only to members to post for security reasons as well keeping the Forum a happy place without dispute and foul language. This has been proposed by Simon Peckham and seconded by Simon Chapman. Please let Louise Maher know of any other proposals by the 17th February. A proposal form can then be sent to all members. This allows members who are unable to attend the AGM to have their chance to vote. 8. Proposal Please tick if you vote in favour of the proposal. I propose that the Chairperson of the Opel Manta Owners Club should be changed every 3 years, depending on someone wanting to take on that role. I propose that the Constitution is changed from 4 Magazines a year to 2 Magazines a year. I propose that the Constitution is changed from 4 Executive meetings a year to 2 Executive meetings a year. There have not been any proposals received from members for this year’s AGM. Therefore, these proposals are ones that were formed at past meetings and need to be voted on. Votes have been taken in the past regarding the Magazine and Executive meetings, however, the Constitution has not been amended. If you are unable to attend the meeting to vote in person: Reply via the OMOC forum Email msmaher24@hotmail.com Telephone 01926 641574 Text 07905255828 Please text only as I cannot answer my phone during the day. 9. If you are a member you are entitled to attend the AGM and to vote, by post if you are unable to attend. Once the proposals are finalised there will be an email sent to all members enabling them to vote. If you dont have an email address registered you should get a form in the post. You can always email me with anything which i can pass on.
  10. To all members, Happy New Year to you all. The AGM is now fast approaching – Saturday 9th April at The White Horse Inn, Stoke Ash, Suffolk, IP23 7ET. This is the time for you to have your say and put forward any proposals for changes within the club. So far we have: · At last year’s AGM Rab proposed that the Chair should change every 3 years. This is only possible if there are others who would like to step in to the roll. If there is nobody who wants to step in then the Chairperson will be voted back in by the Committee. This is currently the procedure each year anyway. · The Constitution should be amended to reflect the change in magazine issues. This has dropped from 4 a year to 2 a year. · The Constitution should be amended to reflect the change in the number of Executive meetings held in a year. This has dropped from 4 a year to 2 a year. Please let Louise Maher know of any other proposals by the 13th February. A proposal form can then be sent to all members. This allows members who are unable to attend the AGM to have their chance to vote. 11. Looking to see if the owner of red hatch A666MFC is on here. Car on ebay and original owner Anne Norris could be interested in buying it back if its not a total basket case. Says based in Brighton. Please get in touch asap.
  12. There is now a confirmed date for the OMOC AGM 29th March 2015 The Buckles Inn Tadcaster Road Askham Richards York North Yorkshire YO23 3PW Ian Martin is local to this area and has asked me to mention that the A64 is a fast road, there are also a lot of police along this road with speed vans so to be mindful to stick to the speed limit. If anyone has any proposals they need to be forwarded to me please. The pub does offer a varied food menu so people are able to arrive in time to buy a spot of lunch ready for the meeting to start at 2pm
  13. We are having a committee meeting this weekend and this is one of the things that will be discussed
  14. Over recent years, the New Year's Bash has seemed to be less attended. I have been looking at places to book for next year and before I go ahead, I would just like some feedback from members as to whether they would still like this event. Do you think you may be able to attend? I do understand, most people, at this time, will not be making firm commitments to attend, though it will give me a bit of an indication as to the viability of making a booking. The Hotel I have made inquiries to is the St |Pierre Marriot Hotel, Chepstow. The proposed date being the 18th February 2014. £151 per room, per night, inclusive of dinner and breakfast, with full use of the fitness suite and swimming pool. You can google this hotel for more information and pictures, however I have pasted rom their website, their description of the venue.
