  1. Hi all I had to replace my A series rear rubber overrides I found two front ones that some one had on eBay for sale with a bit of damage but I used the old rear one as a template and made two replacements for back ,the front are longer so can be cut to look like rear one with a little bit of sculpting , if I get time tomorrow I’ll take photos so you can judge for your self regards sie Willetts

  10. Thanks for info ,not doing loads of mileage so see how it goes if i end up with problems with auto box I might reconsider, do you have to chance flywheel and is it easy to put clutch pedal in, regaerds sie ps any one know is there a way of refurbishing the wood look strip on the inside of the front doors is there a wrap wood look that is any good or do people stain and varnish them ?( I will include photo)
  11. Yes that’s how I feel now it’s been tuned up it makes driving it quite nice you can sit back and enjoy the ride ,it sounds all right as well I got ride of the small back box on the exhaust and put a straight piece of stainless steel ,the last manta I owned the previous owner had done this . If anyone knows of auto box that would fit with more than 3 speed it would be worth knowing since that would help drop the engine revs , cheers all its helpful to have so many manta brain experts to get advice off, regards sie
  12. Yes sounds good but auto box working ok ,had it been no good I probably would go down that route, but there are not many automatic left and this one is so original it’s a shame to butcher it to much had it been like the one on sale in Poole I think I might be pinching my son’s engine out of his Mi40 BMW 3litre straight 6 . Do you know of any better auto boxes that will fit , regards sie
  13. Hi is that 5 speed manual or 5 speed auto box car has only done just over 28,000 mile from new let me know , sie
  14. It wii look even better when it’s had a paint job and other work done regards sie
  15. Hi all don’t think done up date on my manta A 1.9 auto it back on the road after 10 of storage had tuned up by guy near me who’s a mechanic with krypton tuner ,so now the timing is correct it does not cut out when you brake and the put your foot down to pull out of a very busy junction (I live in village near where the new Hinckley point power station is under construction)loads of lorries and coaches so this could have been the end of the Manta and me hair raising and being an auto no chance of bump starting a case of coasting into the nearest turning . Ps a few photos now it’s had a good clean up a 4 new tyres regards sie willetts
  16. Hi all just spotted this gone up for sale regards sie https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F273656994790

  20. Sounds like a good idea ,I could have brought kit of the net for about £50 which is for piston and seals but you got get the stuck piston out which is what was wrong on one side on mine ,and it is worth noting they are pressure tested before they come back sie
  21. Yes it takes a little longer to get them back but that’s well worth the wait
  22. They charged me £125 for the pair plus £9.90return post. It £115 if you want them cleaned and basic finish but for the extra £10 you can have them electro plated so I thought no brainer ,mind you it cost me £27 to post up to them on guaranteed delivery by 1 pm next day and insurance of £500 thought I did not want them going astray. So all together just under £165 not bad and should last for many years to come at least my brakes will work properly now had new cylinder in back and new disc to go on front and got some new pins and spring for the pads regards sie ps Biggred are in Worcester WR2 4AY
  23. Hi all my brake callipers have just come back from Biggred they now look like new big thanks to them and person who recommended them I will try post pictures regards sie
