paul1393
Suitable for a V8 conversion. The Webber/Edelbrock version of this carb is a common upgrade on the Rover V8 engine using a down draft inlet manifold. This carb is a Carter 9000 series aluminum four barrel (AFB) 500 cubic foot per minute(cfm). The 9500 number stamped on the body confirms this. Very similar to the Webber/Edelbrock Performer 1404 carb. Rods and jets are interchangable between carbs. I have carried out a complete strip down and rebuild using the Edelbrock kit. I have also converted the carb to manual choke. The carb has been tested on my own 4.6 Rover v8 engine and is in full working order. I have installed the following jets; primarys .86, secondarys .95 and metering rods 6552. This is the stock set up for a 500cfm Edelbrock/ Carter. You may have to re-tune the carb depending on your engine size/state of tune. I can supply jets and rods at very good prices for re-tuning to the Rpi settings for 3.5/3.9/4.0 £150 plus £8.50 p&p PM or call 07958 579628 Paul.
