Inlet Manifold Advice, Manta A

Hi,

I have a 1973 A Series Opel Manta SR 1900, I recently bought a second hand full stainless steel exhaust system for it from ebay. The exhaust system that was on it was the standard type of exhaust were the inlet and exhaust manifolds are bolted together which I think has something to do with the auto choke but it has a manual choke fitted so thats not needed. The problem I'm having is the inlet manifold is not fitting on because of the bulkiness of it were it's meant to attach to the old original exhaust manifold. I was wondering should I grind away at the inlet manifold to make clearance for it to fit or is there another inlet manifold available that would complement this stainless steel exhaust system but still accomodate the original webber carb thats fitted. Theres no going back now because I had to cut off the old exhaust.

Please help! Ray.
