My temperature gauge was reading a bit on the high side; not in the red but on the border. I know there are several reasons why this might be (voltage regulator, or of course that it actually is running hot) but as a first move because it was a 5 minute job I decided to change the sender for a new one, to see if there was any effect. The new one was a brand new Lucas one that came from an ebay seller. With this fitted the gauge goes right past the red section and hard up against the stop - so I think the new sender might be the wrong one. But, I broke the old one in getting it off - so I'm looking for another that is at least known to be the right one.
