GreenManta
I need a picture or measurements for painting the black around the hood on my 74 Manta. I can't seem to locate the correct measurements. Thank you for anyone that can help.
monzta
First off let me give you my respect for doing this research. Not many does this, and they end up with cars that just "look like" a real GT/E or Rallye. The Rallye and the GT/E Manta A´s black bonnet is a tricky bit. The car shown here is all wrong. First off, the black did not go as far down the nose as this, and the lines of the black at the sides lined up originally with the windscreen. As you can see here they have just painted the bonnet black, left the front wings yellow and painted the nose alot of black. Original material is hard to find, but check this out. This is a picture of the original TE2800 rallycar from Transeurop Engineering. Very few where made, but the car that was used as a base was a original GT/E shell and paintjob. If you look closely you can see that the black of the bonnet stretches out onto the front wings about 2/3rds. Also you can see that the nose has the black colour extended to just over half the way. You can also see how the black lines up perfectly with the windscreen seals. Here´s one more in colours I am very sorry that i dont have any exact measurements for you, but try digging up original material like this, and i am certain that you won´t be far off Cheers, Ruben Edited May 15, 2012 by monzta
