Thanks Tony. Jack and his Dad came all the way up from Plymouth in the orange 1.6s. It's just out of a five year restoration and looks fantastic. As Jack is only 21 years old the 1.6 engine will be staying for a few more years.

Andy's Bronze car started life as a 1.6s, it was converted to Rover 3.5 V8 some years ago and is in lovely condition. I do like the wheels. Andy lives in Derbyshire.

Thanks for sharing your photos, all the cars look fantastic, it's just what I needed to get me going on my one again, sometimes I get a bit 'tired' and lose interest, then I see photos like those and it fires me up again!!

Cheers,

Alf.

Hi Alf, I think a lot of us have those feelings during a long resto.

I spent 5 years restoring and modifying my car. The day I took it for it's first post resto MOT a V'hall Nova ran into the back of it at a roundabout! I felt like giving up. It needed a new back panel and nearside quarter panel which I didn't have to repair the car. However after some time through a contact in Holland I managed to get them.

Keep at it Alf! The fun you'll have when the car is finished will far out way the long hours in the garage.

Paul.

You should have droped in for a cupper, Paul. I am only about 1/2 an hour away from Mallory Park. Didn't know anything about the meet or I would have come up to see you. It's not often you see 3 Manta A's in the same place out side of Billing.LOL.

Hi Chris, nice to hear from you. Didn't know you lived so close. You would have been very welcome.

I think Practical Performance Car magazine do this event at least annually. I will be there again as it was so much fun :D .

The car ran really well, however when my son Matthew took it on the track he gave it quite a thrashing for a few laps before the oil temp hit 110c he took it easy after that!

My oil cooler is quite small as I am limited for space at the front of the rad. The root of the problem is the sump which was altered to fit over the crossmember reducing the capacity. I am going to try a winged sump when I get the front crossmember off over the winter.
