taylorblue5
This week i've been building and crossing bridges with my Z20LER engine. So far I've swapped the throttle body for a cable operated one from an X20XEV, reversed the tophat and removed all parts not required. I have removed the counter balance shafts and blocked off the oil ways that feed them and cut down the tensioner mount to clear the new subframe based engine mount. The engine came without a flywheel so i had to find a suitable 6 holed one, I didn't realize that the z20let engine came without a dual mass flywheel so i ordered an x18xev one but the bolt holes are slightly off, brilliant!! Now the gearbox and transmission is sorted iv made my new wiring loom for the megasquirt system. I've had to ditch the standard coil pack system in favour of a twin coiled one from the XE as i donth think the standard one will be sufficient for wasted spark use. I'm hoping the original waterbar/oil cooler can be kept for simplicity, I'm trying to remember if a waterpipe heads round behind the engine on top of the gearbox. If it does I'm fine.
