Stripping / Replacing Seat Upholstery For Mk1 Cavvy - Possible?

Hi guys.

I picked up a couple of seats from a guy at Billing on sunday. They had looked promising from the pics, but unfortunately the shade / cloth isnt a good enough match to replace the ones in my mk1 cavvy (worn drivers seat being the biggest prob).

The seats are gererally fresher than mine though and offer more support, so I'm thinking of attempting to swap the upholstery over. I think I remember someone suggesting this was possible. I had a look at the seats and it looks tricky!

Can anyone offer any advice on how to go about it?Thanks in advance!

A long shot but I spoke to a Scottish couple who brought 2 cars down - at Billing on the Cavalier & Chevette Club Field - they had mk1 beige saloon & a mk1 light blue Coupe ( registered in Edinburgh SF )

The lady was of OAP age had the car from new in the family.

Long story but she had the side of the seats recovered & maybe on their forum / website you could search her out for info on who did it etc as it was a good match although in Vinyl.

They did live in Scotland too.
