mcintbg
I guess this is really simple but I just cant seem to get the gear knob off the stick in my A. Does it screw on some how ?? I tried twisting it and managed to mess up the reverse selector so now no reverse Thx
Mantney
I think they are single use, so to speak, and need to be cut off and replaced with a new one.

mcintbg
Update...... Solved and previous fault fixed as well !! Took the whole thing off the gearbox by removing a small cir-clip and spring. Then put the gear knob in a large vice and after a bit of fighting eventually it gave in and came away from the stick. Once all the parts were removed I could see the broken wire which operates the reverse gear inhibitor. First I tried the trust MiG welder to join the two back together, fail ended up with an even shorter wire .... Next soldering iron and once both ends were tinned they stuck together and i was able to resemble the whole thing and now I have reverse gear again very happy. This is what prompted the whole thing, a proper NOS Berlinetta gear knob. It does look nice though
