thesunroofkid
Hello folks Does anyone know of a magic way to quieten a noisy clutch thrust bearing, other than replacement? I've already carefully tried WD40, which works for about 5 minutes and then the whirring (when the pedal is depressed) starts again. The clutch works OK otherwise, although cable clutches don't seem to be as progressive as hydraulic ones. I've read that bearing noise has been a problem, to the point where Opel added a plastic sleeve over the diaphragm springs, but these don't seem to be included in any clutch kits that I've seen. Any suggestions? Thanks, David
andyc
Replacement is the only way I afraid. Not sure if you can get one from a motor factor but if not these are the parts numbers. 1.6, 1.9, 2.0 Pt/No 90111364 2.0E upto chassis number H6000000 Pt/No 90111364 20E from chassis number H6000001 Pt/No 90250663 The plastic cover you mention I think is Pt/No 2888020 but the Mirco Fiche isn't very clear on that one so please use that number with caution Not sure if these are still available from Vauxhall but at least you can google the part numbers Hope that helps Andy
