I own an 1988 Opel Manta GTE Exclusive Edition which has been in my parents garage since 2001. Speaking to my father, he believes that kick down cable is stuck between the auto gearbox and the engine. Unfortunately my father's health is not the same as it was back then and the one person who had knowledge of the vehicle was willing to work on it moved back to Finland last year. I am no mechanic and as a result I am looking for recommendations for a garage/ mechanic who would he happy to work on it to get it MOT ready. Understand since 2001 there could be more issues than just the kick down cable but would really like someone to initially have a look so work out whats required and costs.
