can someone guide me through with their tips and wisdom? I want to do it DIY.

Do I need to remove/change the springs too?

where do i need to lift and support the underside? I have one jack, two axle stands and a couple spring compressors.

any advice is appreciated..

cheers

All 4?

Rears are easy. Undo top mounts, undo bolt at bottom and remove.

Fronts are much the same, but can be fiddly to fit through the suspension arm. No spring compressors necessary. In fact, you only need to jack up the car so you can fit under.
