manxmanta
I have an 88 Manta GTE exclusive coupe. When the engine warms up i get a loud whistling noise which sounds like a referee's whistle. Does anyone have any idea what is causing this and how can i fix it?
mantadoc
I've had that with a defective rad cap / head gasket and missing fan belt on occasion. If it doesn't do it with the fan belt off then it would be either water pump or alternator, but you should never run without fanbelt, and usually these two items aren't affected by warm up. Could be clutch release bearing (varies when foot on clutch). All those can make that kind of sound but not usually warm up related. Too vague really, have you any idea which end of the engine it even comes from?
mikemanta
look round the inlet manifold see if it has become loose or the gasket may have gone causing an air leak.
