bones
I had problems with my Chevette bias pedal box and Corsa B column. You can spin the motor around and make new mounts. ( I had posted this on the Droop Snoot forum a couple of weeks ago) Here are some pictures of my conversion.I have used a Corsa B column then the next part is a bit of a Kadett C column which is a sort of tube with two flat edges which knocks on to the B column and then pinned with a roll pin , then a length of the Kadett column that slides into the tube (also pinned) .At the bottom end of the column is an Escort group4 (cast type) joint with a peace of Escort column plug welded to a sleeve I had made up attached to the length of Kadett column. The motor has been turned around to miss the bias pedal box as there just isn't any room on the right hand side of the dash and the original bracket has been cut and modded to suit the mount I have going to the tunnel, the top brackets were cut off and I made some new ones with large holes in it which I will weld large washers to once everything else lines up. I made another bracket on the right hand side of the motor which is bolted to the pillar which I have welded a plate with two nuts on. I have used a bit of the Kadett outer column and made a nylon type bush to help line the column up and keep things straight.(On the first picture the tunnel mount bracket isn't fitted )Hope this helps, it's been a bit of a pain to do but I'm sure it will be worth it in the end. The wiring side looks pretty straight forward the only thing you need apart from the speed controller kit is a 50amp fuse and holder. I'm not sure when I will be wiring it up as I have lots of bare wires from de-constructing the car and I don't want to put a battery on yet as my main aim is to try and get other things done ready for painting. Titson
yeah got them, just wondering how you worked the pedal box with the master cylinders in the engine bay?is the pedal box under the dash? Pedal box stays in its original position, minor mod to allow it to fit,cut pedal box mounting bracket through to servo back and weld it to the recessed box. Both master cylinders sit it the recess in the engine bay. Brake pedal is drilled to take the bias pedal bar and swivel bearing, this is welded in the pedal so allowing the bias bar to move as it should and the clyinders sit either side of the pedal then. Then remote servo's serve each cylinder, this a rally car though, so two remotes may be overkill for a road car!
