E416 PBO
Hi, I hope someone can help me! I bought a 2001 Astra with a z14xe engine. Engine had a broken con rod so had to replace engine. Engine fitted and then fully serviced. Problem is engine can take up to 10 seconds to start. Usually starts fine when started first thing in the morning. If I turn off key and turn again, it'll take at least 10 seconds. No engine management lights are on and no faults are recorded. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Luke. dynamytedan
theres quite a few things it can be ... key chip and transponder fuel pump / relay /engine controll relay crank/cam shaft sensors coolant temp sensor airflow meter blocked/broken CAT ECU all sorts of posibilities really . get the ecu codes read , it may have stored or pending faults even though the light isnt on . this may give you a clue where to look next . ok i just had a look on auto data at the knowen problems for these cars Poor starting -a common/knowen fault is the coolant temp sensor (CTS) they suggest replacing it and a section of loom that fails due to vibration . the part numbers are heatshrink sleeve -90543865 harness- 90543875 adaptor kit 93174557 ECT sensor 1.4/1.6 -93174208
