They take a 19mm socket/spanner, so M12 would be a pretty good guess.

But personally would not replace with a stainless Nut, but a new Nylock nut :thumbup

Whoops I read that wrong, you mean the nuts and bolts each side of the ball joint.

again I wouldn't replace these with stainless due to the shear strength of staainless steel being way way less than an 8.8 grade steel bolt.

Normally stainless fasteners are supplied in A2 grade, did a quick search and this may explain clearly to you.

I would expect to see the A4 80 grade stainless fasteners to be very very expensive.

YOU SHOULD NEVER USE STAINLESS STEEL FASTENERS IN ANY POTENTIAL HIGH STRESS AREAS (unless they are of the higher grade)
