399Road
Sheffield's meeting is coming up this Thursday evening at Dronfield, I've got the Ascona back on the road again and have nearly run the new engine in. This month looks like a good one for Mantas in our area. Rob's 16V A.series Manta is finally on the road and he's also been driving all over, trying to get some miles on his car and iron out any small problems. He's a bit braver than me and has done quite a few long drives where as I've kept pretty local. He's planning on a long road trip to the Le Mans classic soon. Another mate of mine, Darren, has bought an absolutely immaculate Exclusive and came round to my place last weekend. This car is as close to being a brand new Manta as possible and he says there are no squeks or rattles and the car drives nice and tight. The front of my place looked like an 80's Opel dealer with Three white Opels parked outside. Darren's hoping to make this meet if possible. Darren has owned quite a few special cars before and still has a couple of really nice Imps and a Ginetta. He also owned a Turbo'd GTE a few years ago. Mick's early B.series coupe is now Orange! Have a look in the Projects section to see how busy he's been recently. This colour really suits the shape of the Manta. Hopefully he'll be back on the road soon and I'm looking forward to hearing the twin Webers he's fitted. We meet at the Toby carvery, right at the top of Dronfield on the outskirts of Sheffield from around 8PM onwards. See you there? ...Luke.
