Anybody Can Help? Gte Coupe Rear Window Glass.

Hello

I should have introduced myself as a member of the club a couple of months back when I joined at the NEC, but I've been busy trying to finish off last years project, restoring an 87 GTE Exclusive coupe. It's been 1 step forward and 2 steps back sometimes as Dave at Mantasport will testify. In fact he's probably started his own dossier by now. If it wasn't for Dave'I'd have probably thrown the towel in by now. I can't thank him enough for all the support and help with the car.

Anyway I've been on the forum in the past and have received some great advice but this one is a big ask.

This afternoon having just had the windscreen guy's round sealing up the leaking windscreen, I was warming up the car when 'bang' the rear window smashed into a zillion pieces. At first I thought someone had thrown a brick at it. No brick anywhere, so that left the heated rear window.

Yes, just when I thought I was back on track the bloody loose contact has arced, shorted and smashed the 26 year old rear window into the never never land!!

The problem is I can't source one anywhere. Even my contact at the vehicle glass company in Birmingham can't get one (although he has a bronze coupe glass and is making enquiries to get some made in Europe if the demand is enough).

Does anybody in the club have a second hand GREEN tinted rear glass pretty pretty please????

Any advice would be welcome as at this moment the car is all wrapped up AGAIN on the drive and I want to keep using it!

I'll try and attach a photo of the coupe in happier times,

Cheers,

Blake
