Seat Mountings

If i remember right 3 & 4 go at the front as the seat has the bar at the front and they hold it down and it sort of rocks forwards and back on the bar. Then i think 1 & 2 are on the side by the tunnel. You have one each side (one on each seat) and then 5 & 6 are on the outer towards the outside of the car.

So you would have two of the front mounting brackets and one each of the others sets per seat as far as i remember, but as im not running the original seats someone might need to put me right on if i have the 1 & 2 and 5 & 6 the right way round. You should have little plastic plugs with an inner pin to hold the back rails on.

I might have some if you dont have them.

Thanks Andy, your a star.

My car didn't come with original seats so have acquired some with the brackets. Don't have any plastic plugs, and can't picture where they would be. I have two black plastic strips which I believe sit on top of 1 & 2. I have also bought high tensile bolts with champhered heads to hold everything down.

Good idea on the bolts. The black plasic strips do go on top from what i remember and the seat base slides on this.

The plugs work a bit like a raw plug. You push the main bit through the plastic bit into the hole for the mounting brackets and then push in the plug which expands it out stopping it from coming out. You should see the plastic strips have two holes that look counter sunk, the plug then have a flat top so the seat run over them easily from memory.

i have a whole pot of bits and will have a look for one over the next few days. i might have a picture on the blog. i will have a look.

Hello Andy,

After a few hours of fannying around yesterday i managed to get the seats in and seems as though i had all the bits, except it seems the seats aren't quit the right ones but hey ho.

Thanks again for your advice.

Hey, That's good news. Do they work ok?

And any time i can help out im happy to. I know what its like trying to work out where things go when you have now idea or plan of how they go together ;-)

You should see the basic info i have on the injection system!! It goes some thing like, connect part 34 to 43 and locate into part 15... no pictures and just guess work as to which part is which, its been fun and i think im nearly there!!!! i hope.

I will find out as soon as i have finished building the pesky exhaust system :-)
