davep
ZF Limited Slip differential with 3.44:1 crown wheel and pinion and disc braked axle case (no half shafts). The differential case is marked on the outside due to having been in brief contact with the pinion but this is only cosmetic and once it is built it cannot be seen. The axle will need re-assembly with a new outer splined drive piece to connect to torque tube drive shaft and may need new bearings and spacer. Price £400, located in Cambridgeshire. Dom400
Hi Dave, V interested in taking off your hands, been after one for a while! Can u please tell me why the pinion hit the case? Thanks! Dom
davep
The prop extension started to whip due to it pulling 7500 rpm in 4th gear on a rolling road. The ally torque tube shattered and despite the dyno operator shutting everything down very quickly it locked up. I think the severe reverse load undid the retaining nut on the pinion allowing it to hit the diff. Everything looks fine apart from the chafe narks on the LSD case. I have now got used to a lower diff ratio so will probably invest in either a Gripper or Titan diff.
Dom400
Hi Dave, Sorry to hear about your misshap on the dyno! And also sorry to waste your time but I'm gonna give that one a miss! I'm just a bit parra about the stresses that the unit has experienced. Dom
