tooler
Have manta A and noticed front wheel comes loose, not the nuts but the studs are loose in the hub. Thought wheel bearing was issue, but now know it's studs. Is there easy fix for this, or what do I need. New studs or hub. Any info appreciated. MANTAMAN
Thats an odd one, if the studs have been loose for a while they might have enlarged the stud holes, don't know if it is possible to get studs with larger 'shoulders', might be easier to get another hub.
tooler
Yea, I thought it was strange. I felt it in steering when braking first. And checked it out thinking wheel bearing. Replaced it and still loose with wheel all tightened back up. There's play in the wheel. Studs loose where the spline part is pressed in to hub. D85CGV
If the studs are loose in the hub where the splines are. It sounds as though the holes in the hub have become elongated. Sounds like a case for a new hub and studs. You could weld the studs to the hub. But that's a bit rough and it's a bit of a chance to take as far as safety is concerned.
