smiffy220 Posted July 29, 2010 Share Posted July 29, 2010 I got my current SR Coupe last year after a gap of 15 years from Manta's whilst busy doing other things. But wondered if any of my previous cars were still about, or anyone knows what happened to them? 1st Manta- bought one month after I passed my test in 1987 when I was 17 was a 1.9 SR Coupe with GTE bodykit and was two tone blue. Reg was NMG 908R. Chassis rails had gone when I sold it 5 months later, so imagine it got scrapped? 2nd Manta - bought straight away when I was just 18 in 1988 after selling above car was a 2.0 SR Berlinetta Coupe, Ocean Blue and was in pretty good condition. Reg was ACX 897V. Sold it about 1 year later. 3rd Manta - bought in 1989 was a Polar White GTE Coupe. C446 KGF. Sold it in 1994, was still in pretty good shape although had had some welding done to the chassis rails, and was a small rust patch behind the offside rear wheel arch. I very much doubted the 1st one would be as it was so rotten when I had it in 1987!! Shame the other two aren't around though. Will have to hang onto this one and keep it on the road instead. I reckon if those 3 were still about, it would be a full time job for years to get them looking good again. That first one i bought when I was 17 a month after i passed my test off a bloke on a petrol station forecourt! Was already rotten on the chassis legs then, and that would be 23 years ago now!
