Hi mate , yes you could rewire your fuel pump either by running 2 wires down to the pump and wiring to live feed from ingnition or battery with a fuse and kill switch. You dont have have a long earth wire to the pump as you can mount it in the boot along side the boot lid light on the earth side . The live wire can be fed through the steering console or from the fuse panel down the kick panel and under the carpets , under the rear seat, and under the tank . Feed it through 1 of the orignal grommets to the fuel tank . Hope this helps , cheers steve.

Thanks for that, going to run new wires as the fuel pump only operates when you are cranking the engine and not in the run position seems a little odd

As per Cop, I had to do this the other year on my skyline due to an issue, BUT would Highly recommend that you use a Relay and not just an inline switch, if you do use "Just an inline switch" simply make sure that it can switch a lot of current i.e. 10/15amp + Basically the wiping action of the contacts on a lesser switch simply burn the contacts away, this doesn't happen with Relays hence a longer reliability life with switches when relays are used. :thumbup
