cop
Hi mate , yes you could rewire your fuel pump either by running 2 wires down to the pump and wiring to live feed from ingnition or battery with a fuse and kill switch. You dont have have a long earth wire to the pump as you can mount it in the boot along side the boot lid light on the earth side . The live wire can be fed through the steering console or from the fuse panel down the kick panel and under the carpets , under the rear seat, and under the tank . Feed it through 1 of the orignal grommets to the fuel tank . Hope this helps , cheers steve. Edited July 3, 2011 by cop

Thanks for that, going to run new wires as the fuel pump only operates when you are cranking the engine and not in the run position seems a little odd
opel2000
As per Cop, I had to do this the other year on my skyline due to an issue, BUT would Highly recommend that you use a Relay and not just an inline switch, if you do use "Just an inline switch" simply make sure that it can switch a lot of current i.e. 10/15amp + Basically the wiping action of the contacts on a lesser switch simply burn the contacts away, this doesn't happen with Relays hence a longer reliability life with switches when relays are used. maher the hermit
Before you rewire the pump check the fuses.. think the pump use's the same fuse as the heated rear window. the old ceramic fuse holder copper contacts are known to burn with age and the fuse to become loose.....
