Scribe of Lincoln
Does anybody have an auto gearbox sump gasket that they are willing to part with please? I've got one on order but want to keep one as a spare. Thanks, Scribe

Julian
Very simple to make your own, have the sheet of gasket cork ready for when you drop the sump off, lay it on a flat suface, place the sump face down on top, pencil the shape of the sump all round, mark out the holes, and I always punch the holes out before cutting the gasket out, safer that way, as you could break the cork if you punch the holes ot after cutting the cork, we had about thirty automatic transits in Sunblest, and were forever, stripping them down and rebuilding them. Scribe of Lincoln
Thanks for the tip. I managed to get underneath the car for the first time this year yesterday and think I've sorted the leak now. It was either a pipe clip that needed tightening up or the bolt that has the clip for the steel pipe on it. Not even a drip this morning - happy days! May have to make my own gasket next time around though - nobody seems to be able to get them now.
