hi all need a bit of advice, just dropped my hatch down for the 1st time in years, i ordered 60mm springs but when she sat down i still managed to get about 3 fingers between the arches and wheels, which were 16,s, my question is....how much do you think it will lower when the springs settle i know all will be different but i cant see it maybe dropping any more than maybe 10mm, bit baffled i thought she would be quite alot lower, ill try and post some pics up later............ thanks

This was lowered 60mm and had settled in.

It was on 15's though, just in case that makes any difference.

Bottomed-out over small humps like a bastard so I wouldn't recommend going any lower than 40mm personally, especially if you were planning on carrying two passengers!

If you've replaced very old springs, they will have dropped a bit anyway so your 60mm drop is probably more 50mm. An Apex kit I just fitted to my Lacetti said between 30-40mm as with coilovers this difference is even more noticeable. Mine did drop a full 40mm on the front and 35mm on the back so now has a bit of a rake. You'll only need to drive for 100 miles on a few bumpy and twisty roads for them to settle. I noticed when they were fitted, my car looked better with an even distance around the tyre edge to the outer arch, now it actually looks lowered as the arch gap is closer to the top of the tyre, this is only a week later commuting to work and back.
