davo
I don't know why but all the eBay items say post to Germany only. But as you say send a friendly email & they should post to uk.
spiney_norman
To be fair I never advertise anything with international postage, but if someone asks nicely I'll usually do it. Main problem is that with the exception of a few big business sellers, most German ebay users absolutely will not take Paypal. Strange as in the UK you can't actually sell anything without a Paypal account to be paid by.
NEIL W
I don't know why but all the eBay items say post to Germany only. But as you say send a friendly email & they should post to uk. I have bought a few items in Germany & find the sellers will take Paypal & post if they are asked - but & there is a big but - the postage can be eye opening so not worth the total price. IBAN bank transfer is common & works fine so the cash goes straight to their bank - so far all has been good. As a anti dote - was on holiday in the Mosel Valley and as you do when on hoilday tasted the local wine. Brought back 48 bottles which didn't last the summer so e-mailed the Vine Yard asking if they could send any to the UK. 21 Bottles was Euro 20 to post in a big special box & arrived 3 days later. Guy said just to phone him with my Visa Card when they arrived So Yes it can be done & the Germans mostly all speak English.
