Snowy
Can anyone confirm that a C20XE should have a 92 degree thermostat and a radiator fan switch that comes on at 100 degrees and turns off at 95 degrees? My manta must have a much lower temperature thermostat in and the rad switch is set a 90 degrees in the top hose. I also thought that the rad switch should be at the bottom of the rad or at least in the bottom hose? Mine is in the top hose. What do other people do with their C20XE conversions? Snowy
My rad switch is in the top left corner of my radiator & never had a problem .. I'm not saying it causes a problem. But if the on off at 100 - 95 is supposed to be at the bottom then it would need to be a different temperature at the top. Thanks Edited October 5, 2014 by Snowy
andyc
On the standard 16v car (Astra/Cavalier Etc) the switch is in the lower section on the rad. Normal 16v stat is a 92 degree unit (90443472) but if your going to rag it in the summer then i think i'd go for the lower temp stat 82 degree 90486126. The rad fan switch id use is the one with two spade terminals so you won't need and special plugs 90108636 and seal 24427589 Cheers Andy
