Redrobie
As above I am still searching for a new unpainted original rear spoiler for my Manta B. I do not want an Exclusive spoiler but might consider an after market item. If anyone has one for sale please let me know.
Daza
Is there any reason why your looking for an unpainted rear spoiler? I've looked at stripping the paint off two spoilers recently. I guess it depends what they have been sprayed with in the past. One spoiler I have, was able to be stripped with thinners and a very fine grade wet and dry (this was really easy to achieve) the other (the one thats stuck on the car) was a real bugger to strip, and was sanded. Darren I have found soda blasting works very well on the rubber spoilers to remove paint without any damage. Fellow member Mr Carlos recommended i try it and it works very well. Redrobie
Could be worth a try. The spoiler on my car had been painted before I bought it and had cracking due to being pressed down on while closing the boot or pushing the car it had been on maybe. I tried sanding and filling the cracks and painted it with Matte Black.spray paint but it cracked again almost immediately. I guess the first paint did not contain an effective plasticizer and I am now suffering the consequences.
Redrobie
Still looking for a new rear spoiler. This one has had a coat of silver paint at some point and sanding just doesn't remove it. Am I right in believing that they were originally just plain rubber?
