jonayres
The gearbox is being put back into my 1984 GT/E soon. When it was removed, there was sound proofing material between the gearbox housing and the underside of the car. At the time it was 31 years old and badly perished. It was binned. Does anyone know the specification for this material and/or where to get it? Many thanks, Jon
Danny D114BCW
Your best bet is speak to somebody breaking a car but unless you really want it on i would leave it off along with the sponge type used on the inside of the car too.
jonayres
Hi Danny, that's interesting. I'd not considered leaving it off. I was guessing that it must have quietened the thing down a bit? You don't see many being broken any more do you? I'm hoping to keep it as close as possible to the same spec as when it was new, so I'll fit it, if I can. Thanks, Jon
Danny D114BCW
We break and deal in all Manta stuff, we only restore, break and deal in the B and mainly C series models. If we can help let me know.

jonayres
I guess you'd need to remove it to see what state it's in. What state is the breaker in? Have you got the gearbox and engine out of it?
Danny D114BCW
we have various cars in different stages. Carl (MrCarlos on here) is the man to ask as he is down there at the units daily. But he is very busy at the moment so it will be a matter of waiting until after the VBOA show in all honesty.
