JonnyD
Hi All. Me again. This time I am needing assistance in locating the correct parts to buy to replace the distributor cap, rotor and HT leads for my 1987 2.0 Manta GTE. It has the AC Delco ignition system. images may help explain. also when I went to unscrew the module off the engine bay wall it fell off so any easy ways to create a mounting location for the two bolts? thanks as always
Jessopia74
Distributor is Bosch. https://www.sparkplugs.co.uk/car/ignition/rotor-arm/manufacturer/car/opel/manta-b-58-59-1975-1988/2-0-e-110hp-81kw-08-1977-08-1988/10766_310518 (good for cross refencing number for finding on ebay a a lot less!) There is any easy way to rebolt - but you would need the tool, Rivet nuts https://www.amazon.co.uk/POIU-Rivet-Riveter-Threaded-Mandrel/dp/B09ZYLV86B You might need to use washers on the back of it too and if you have rust where the old once where - at least put some Cure-rust (Bilt Hamber Hydrate 80 etc) and a dab of paint.

Great help Np, in the rotor arm in your pic, the metal retaining spring is missing btw so it’s probably quite wobbly when fitted. But otherwise the cap and arm wear is pretty good Edited August 16 by Jessopia74

Looking at your pics, to me I would only be swapping out the rotor arm of what you have. But no harm buying them as pretty cheap (ofc non genuine)
JonnyD
Bought a full set of bit from sparks plugs website. Actually not far off eBay price.

Did you figure out the captive nuts or you just going to go with bolt, washer and nut?
JonnyD
I bought what you suggested as was only a few pounds. Haven’t had time yet to assess. But thanks.

Cool, don’t forget to make sure you cure the rust around the hole. One of the issues with the old cars that don’t have crap wheel well inserts. All the crap just gets into the any bolt holes etc.
