redroze
paul, hold your horses. the 2 litre engine is not for this manta, I have another two. I still upload some pictures to the server to show you all the things I have done on this manta. I strip down the car and got it back to original. Half of the car ordered from germany, even the screws are original with opel serial on them. the next step is interior restoration (seats and door panels, floor and roof already been done). every part in this car is original and this car will stay original. soon you will find out what car will get a bigger engine. some pics from trip to the north from last month: http://pic.hevre.co.il/UserPicPopup.asp?pi...bumIsOpen=False http://pic.hevre.co.il/UserPicPopup.asp?pi...bumIsOpen=False http://pic.hevre.co.il/UserPicPopup.asp?pi...bumIsOpen=False http://pic.hevre.co.il/UserPicPopup.asp?pi...bumIsOpen=False http://pic.hevre.co.il/UserPicPopup.asp?pi...bumIsOpen=False http://pic.hevre.co.il/UserPicPopup.asp?pi...bumIsOpen=False
redroze
a year after I bought my 75 manta I bought another 2 manta. both 72 both 1600cc one manual and the other automatic (for parts). here you can see the automatic (white manta): http://pic.hevre.co.il/UserPicPopup.asp?pi...bumIsOpen=False http://pic.hevre.co.il/UserPicPopup.asp?pi...bumIsOpen=False and here's some pictures of the manual (brown manta): http://pic.hevre.co.il/UserPicPopup.asp?pi...bumIsOpen=False http://pic.hevre.co.il/UserPicPopup.asp?pi...bumIsOpen=False I can't find the time and money to start working on this manta. I am planing on putting a V8 in it.
redroze
the last manta (for now) is 83 B coupe 1.8S GT automatic. I got her for free from a very old guy (first owner), the car in good condition for a 20 years old car. the car stood for 18 months in Eilat (most hottest place in Israel). you can see in the pictures the faded color and the damage to the plastic inside. 2 weeks ago I took the engine off (was working on 3 pistons) and on the way I got rid of the TH125 autobox, now I try to fit carlton 5 speed gearbox (pictures soon). now paul, most likly this manta will get the 2 litre engine. http://pic.hevre.co.il/UserPicPopup.asp?pi...bumIsOpen=False http://pic.hevre.co.il/UserPicPopup.asp?pi...bumIsOpen=False http://pic.hevre.co.il/UserPicPopup.asp?pi...bumIsOpen=False http://pic.hevre.co.il/UserPicPopup.asp?pi...bumIsOpen=False http://pic.hevre.co.il/UserPicPopup.asp?pi...bumIsOpen=False http://pic.hevre.co.il/UserPicPopup.asp?pi...bumIsOpen=False http://pic.hevre.co.il/UserPicPopup.asp?pi...bumIsOpen=False

I have been to Israel, it was VERY hot in Eilat !! where abouts are you? i was mostly in Tel Aviv when i stayed there but i had a car and would drive all over the place, even climbed up Masada at dawn one morning so i could watch the sunrise, very beautiful Climbed a mountain and turned around

Guest
all this pics are great,i must take more of mine as im doing stuff on it is it just me crackin up or do those cars look slightly differnet to european ones? http://www.sitevendor.net/mysite2530/
redroze
boony, It depends on what manta. the manta was sold in Israel (you will be supprised that half of opel models wasn't even for sale around here), most of the cars are european but some mantas were imported from USA. In the 70's the manta wasn't a big heat around here, I don't have numbers but I believe no more then 200-300 mantas were sold around here. I know about 15 manta's A (I have 2 and I am about to buy another 2). manta B not so rare like the manta A. a lot of manta B were imported personaly (like my manta because the B were sold only with 1300cc engine with manual gearbox and 1600cc with autobox. paul, you are welcome to come and visit again. next time I will be happy to show you how beautiful our country (I see you already been in the hot spots but there's a lot more intresting places although our country so small). I live in Ramat Gan, it's 5 miunets from Tel Aviv. I really want to come to see how things go in your club. It's a bit problem to come to UK with my manta. my wife parents live in germany (eishteten) so I am planing a trip with my manta over there in the future. do you have meeting with the german manta club? Guest
the difference in engine sizes is quite big then, cant imagine a manta with a 1.3 engine. http://www.sitevendor.net/mysite2530/
