No idea, as you have not provided enough information...engine type? are you using the torque tube set up, if yes, you just need the measure the distance between the back of the box and axle flange and get a prop to suit..try reco props

Pete's right, but if we assume that that your car was in one piece and working and had a standard back axle then most people would ise the manta torque tube (the alloy bit on the front of the axle) with it's original mount unbolted from the crossmember things and used in place of the Chevette one. The would then normally use the back end of a Manta prope as it fits the axle and have a company such as Pete mentioned join it to the front half of whatever prop you were using before.

Also the Manta B spring hangers are farther apart than the Chvette Kadett ones.......

Drill the spot welds out of the centre bearing mount on the manta torque tube crossmember, then do the same on the little chevette torque tube support, and plug weld the manta bearing carrier into the location on the chevette support piece, all obvious when you start to do it.

Prop wise, if you do the above and bolt it to the original holes in the chevette floorpan, and assuming you have positioned the engine correectly (depends on the engine!) then a manta auto propshaft will be the right length and go straight in, again assuming you are using a manta 5 spd box.

PS hope the shell is arched though, as a manta B axle will put the wheels outside the std arches, you need a manta a axle to get them in the std arches.

We forgot to mention the lower shocker mounts if he hasn't got a turreted hatch or caravan (estate)and that the panhard rod runs on the "opposite diagonal" so the pin needs moving and probably the length adjusting.

Also hopefully Chevette / Kadett lower arms are same length as Manta because if the Manta ones were longer and the Chevette ones used (as makes sense to keep wheel in the middle of the arch) and the Manta torque tube is also longer then axle travel might kill the centre bearing.

Just making it up :) of course he does say he's already got it in.

I would probably just locate the front mount with the axle sitting on the bump stops, or maybe mark it at both extremes and split the difference, ok you could argue at ride height is best unless yumping a bridge pops it out the front lol.

Then again maybe it's too close to matter.

I had a Manta B axle in the Kadett grasser for a while. The torque tube was a manta b with the crossmemeber cut down and bolted on the original Kadett (chevette are the same) mounting points, manta b bottom arms were used and the axle sat in the middle of the arch. the motor was a 2.2 CIH sat right up to the bulkhead with a 5 speed on the back and i'm 99.9% sure that the prop was manta b with no mods. The only mod was, as stated in this thread, moving the panhard pin mounting to the opposite side and shortening the panhard rod. Worked perfectly.
