Ooooner
Here are a few pictures of my 74 Opel Manta Rallye before restoration starts. I actually found this car in a barn in Virginia (USA). Kind of rough but well worth saving. The dash is not cracked and in great shape. It has a dealer installed air-conditioning which is in pristine condition! I will be posting more pictures here as the restoration progresses. http://i971.photobuc.../P4180001-1.jpg http://i971.photobuc...ye/P4180006.jpg http://i971.photobuc...ye/P4180012.jpg http://i971.photobuc...ye/P4180008.jpg By the way, does anyone know where I can get a battery tray? Ooooner
Christ they're some big bumpers on there You got that right. That was the first year that the US made manufactures put on the "Safety" bumpers. I personally think it looks like crap but that is the way it was.... What are the legalities of running it like that on the road now, or do you have to stick with the "correct" ones for that model year? PS, I'm not totally down on them, it's just we're not used to seeing them on cars over here. I was thinking about the other cars that were updated or designed to meet those regs. For example TR7, the Spitfire and the MGB and Midgets.... And have you seen a US spec Fiat Strada?! It was quite "challenged" styling-wise even before it got to your coast!! There have been guys who have switched the 74 bumpers on Manta's to the earlier version with not much problem at all. But I am sort of a purist and I like to put things back to a stock condition with minor updates. I'm not saying I won't change the bumpers, but right now, I plan on cleaning these up and going with what came on the car. Just my thoughts... The MGB, Midget, Spitfire and TR7's weren't as bad as the 74 Manta. I agree. I am not too sure about the Fiat Strada, though... I may know what it is if I saw a picture....
