Julian
petrol tank has started venting, fuel to costly to leak out of cap, any ideas, have tried swapping cap and cleaning vent pipes out, graham I've spent the last three days with the same problem, it started when the locking cap woul not open, I had to force it off, and I've tried two other caps, and an oil filler cap off a CIH engine ( and that is an excellent fit ) but just can't get rid of the smell of petrol. midasmesh
If its a hatch it could be the breather pipes on top of the tank at the back towards the rear axle as ive had these corode on mine and basicaly come off and have had to repair them. Or it could be a small hole in the tank on top. Best bet would be to take the tank off to see what condition of the tank is like but this is only if it is a hatch tank. I had a similar problem with a hatch and that was the breather pipes on top of the tank, I replaced them with copper brake pipe, job sorted
