Christ
Can anyone tell me the thickness (distance between the mounting faces) of the std engine mount rubbers for the 1.8?
Retro Power
With weight on or without? They are very soft. I always use uprated ford pinto 50mm mounts from rally design now, much more solid, without being too noisy. They are about 6 quid each. I think the STD manta ones end up about 50mm thick once compressed
mantasrme
Just measured a pair fitted at 56mm They have an sri130 sat on them rather than a 1.8 but should be the same weight. I normally use a standard OS rubber and a 50mm escort one from rally design on the NS with 2 washers to shim it to the right height It's normally the NS one that rips due to engine rotation I've always found 2 H/D ones transmit a lot of vibration through the car. But standard rubber at 50mm might be ok I th
