spiney_norman
It's not a pressure regulator, it's a pre-filter if that helps at all!
yellowhusaberg
thanks but i think it's a pressure regulator of some sort as it has a adjusting screw coming out of it.looking at it now i have a pre filter feeding into fuel pump into fuel pressure regulator into fuel filter into fuel line to the injection system.this is exactly as it shows it in the haynes manual? shaggy
Can you see any number on the top of the part? It will probably be a Bosch part. If you can give me that number I can see if we have one at work.

mantasrme
The bit with the adjusting screw is a damper to smooth the pulsing of the pump out, not that an rotary injection pump really pulses. They rust badly and often develop a leak. You can remove them with no difference to the engine running or performance I've done so many times on CIH, 20SEH, C30se and C20XE engines as the originals were not fit to reuse and replacements were not available. Matthew
I always thought it was there to keep the fuel pressure for some time so it's easier to restart engine. Common misconception?

OPEL PARTS GREECE
I always thought it was there to keep the fuel pressure for some time so it's easier to restart engine. Common misconception? The fuel valve (under the car) is for normal flow and the pressure valve (near intake) is for the fuel pressure......
