j4m1n
Off to look at a road legal manta rAy this weekend. Cant wait! Not worried about the engine or box as I have plans but anywhere in particular I should check for rust? (Other than everywhere) What about any parts that are uber rare I should check are present and ok? Don't want to be blinded by my heart but its really going to have to be a dog for me not to buy it. With how I feel I will be the best punter you could hope for! A 'flopper' as they call them in the trade. Anyway, hi and I look forward to many hours on here. spiney_norman
Hi, and welcome to the forums. First off, is it a Manta A or B you're off to look at? Plenty of people on here who know lots about both, I'd recommend joining the club if you do buy the car. The technical advice from people on here is worth the £25 a year on its own! Shug
Both manta a and b series do share the same tendency to rust around the bottom 6 inches of the car...
turbo16n
Welcome to the forum. If your looking for rust check the front chassis swan necks and where large bolts hold front suspension on.Check the rear of sills and bottom of rear quarter panels.check frontfootwells and jacking points.check front valence where wings bolt on.battery tray can be bad also inner wings. If it has vinyl roof probably hiding rust! Check for any bubbling. They are not all bad just check carefully ,so there will be no bad surprises. Good luck.

1900SR
What car are you looking at, haven't seen any come up for sale (apart from one coming up at auction soon with a rather large estimate).
