Ems
I'm re-building a standard XE, is it worth paying the extra for ACL bearings & ARP bolts? Any other advice welcome Thanks
mickappy
yes:) arp rod bolts is a must if your going for a little more power... and there not much ££more
opelmantagsi
Thats what I did, my XE is on sidies ARP rod bolts (just remember they need machining in) Only other ARP bolts I used were fly wheel and head bolts but that was only part of the story
waveydavey
I'm just doing one now, I always put new rod bolts on anything I rebuild and intend to thrash. So far all I have found are ARP replacement, nobody else seems to do them, the GM one are reputed to be barely adequate and looking at them I can believe it. The bearings make little or no difference I just bought some GLYCO.25 for £25 from my local factors, as cheap as ebay. unless you're building a screamer no need to bother with expensive stuff.
