gary6303
Is the mk2 jaguar axle the same as the 4ha scimitar axle appart from the the splined mk2 jag hubs.
Kevin Abbott
I think it is the same but with different pick up points for the suspension. I've a 4.1 CWP from a mk2 to go into my 4HA and it looks the same. Like you say. The hubs are removable but if it's got centre lock hubs them keep those and be the first to have touring car style wire wheels on a manta :-)
Retro Power
Just seen this post! The jag mk2 axle is a little narrower than the scimitar se6 axle, but wider than the se5 one. The diffs all interchange with the usual gkn/dana44 crown wheel position steps, ie. a 2.88 carrier is different to a 3.54 carrier etc etc crown wheel location moves across in 1/8" increments in 3 steps through the ratio range. The mk2 axle will go in a manta but I think it's too narrow really, we use the se6 and that's slightly narrower than standard manta. Se6 axles are cheap anyway, around £100 for a base unit, then the costs start with rebuild, etc
Retro Power
Ps if you have some wire wheel hubs I will exchange them for some 5 stud ones, I need some for one of the mk2 jags we're doing!
