mad dog
I wish to remove the dash vents on my Manta to recover the dash but cannot see how that I can remove them without destroying them. Any advice will be gratefully accepted.
upk
Turn the vent so the flap is vertical and then they should just pull out. There are slots that align with he rotate shaft pin. They may need a little light assistance as dash padding can grip them. Have you considered having the dash flocked?? Looks much better imo than a recover. mad dog
Thanks Kev, I'll have a go at the weekend. I have bought a flocking kit from Frost and flocked my MGB dash some years ago with success but I quite fancy the leather cover from top gators and have sent them a binnacle for them to make a pattern to match. Best Regards and Seasons Greetings, Steve.
Sutty2006
I used a screw driver..... but then again i didnt put them back in, used something else. didnt know they turned! but be careful not to squeeze the dash material if you have to "assist" removal.
