rutthenut
My car doesn't have a speedo cable, so can anyone let me know: a) How long is the standard speedo cable? Whereabouts/what side of the standard gearbox does it go to? c) How is it routed from the back of the dash - through the firewall and behind the engine block, or through some other hole in the transmission tunnel area? I will be getting a cable made up to connect my T5 Cosworth gearbox to the standard Manta GT/E speedo. Doesn't need to be accurate, just needs to move the needle and rack up the odometer over time. Snowy
Not a very good picture but you can see where I have marked the speedo cable. It comes out of the dash, and then out of the bulkhead on the passenger side. Down by the chassis rail then into the gearbox. I hope this helps..
rutthenut
Thanks, that helps. That particular hole in the bulkhead has the engine wiring loom running it through it on my car, and the exhaust manifold would cook any cable run down from there. Should help me guesstimate how long the cable ought to be for speedo and gearbox connections on my car anyway, cheers.
